D.J. McNorton ran for 100 yards and a touchdown Saturday and North Dakota State remained unbeaten. Brock Jensen threw a touchdown pass for the Bison (9-0, 6-0 Missouri Valley), who went ahead to stay on Sam Ojuri’s 7-yard TD run in the second quarter that made it 17-10. McNorton’s 4-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter put it out of reach at 27-10.

Illinois State 31 Western Illinois 7

NORMAL, Ill.

Matt Brown ran for a 50-yard touchdown and added a touchdown pass for Illinois State. The Redbirds (7-3, 5-2 Missouri Valley) rolled up 273 rushing yards, averaging just under 6 yards for 46 carries.

South Dakota State 45 Southern Illinois 34

BROOKINGS, S.D.

Austin Sumner threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns for South Dakota State. Sumner hit Aaron Rollin for TDs of 5 and 44 yards in the first quarter, then found Dale Moss for scores of 71 and 4 yards in the second period as the Jackrabbits (4-6, 3-4 Missouri Valley) built a 35-14 halftime lead. Sumner completed 16 of 28 passes and also had two interceptions. Moss finished with five catches for 139 yards while Rollins had five for 133 yards.
