Amy Ponziani of Struthers has been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honor Organization at Youngstown State University. Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment.

Greg Ferro will present “U.S. Foreign Policy: Implications, Impact, Common Denominators 1945-2011” at Park Vista Retirement Community’s Lifelong Learning Institute. The program, scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Nov. 15 in Park Vista’s Gathering Room, is an interactive presentation on the challenges and opportunities of U.S. Foreign Policy in the 21st Century. Ferro will cover topics spanning the decades since the U.S. entrance to the Korean War. The course also will address the recent overthrow and death of Moammar Gadhafi and the announcement that U.S. troops will pull out of Iraq by year’s end. The cost is $10 for Park Vista Residents and Priority Members, $15 for the public and includes lunch after the program at approximately 12:45 p.m. Call Park Vista for reservations by Tuesday at 330-746-2944, ext. 1555.

Ohio state university

Brandon Boucher of Niles, an OSU senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, is a member of the university’s 2011 Homecoming Court. Boucher is one of 24 students who make up the court.
