Irish, Celtic music concert at church

Soprano Colleen McNally-Harris, accompanied by Kirk Kupensky on harp, will give a free concert of Irish and Celtic music at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hubbard First Presbyterian Church, 22 Westview Ave. (behind Dairy Queen). A beef stew dinner will be from noon to 3 p.m. Cost is $6. Call 330-534-9721.
Simple Gifts trio to present concert
GREENVILLE, Pa.
Friends of Music at Holy Trinity concert series will present folk trio Simple Gifts at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. A lecture on the trio’s musical process will precede the concert, and a workshop will follow it.
Simple Gifts, based in central Pennsylvania is comprised of Linda Littleton, Rachel Hall and Karen Hirshon, who collectively play 12 instruments: two violins, concertina, mandolin, banjolin, recorders, bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer, baritone fiddle, guitar, piano and percussion.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is at the corner of Penn Avenue and Clinton Street.

Fall festival
AUSTINTOWN
A free fall festival will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road. Activities will include flag- football games, a hayride, food, a bonfire and crafts and more. All youths from pre-school through college are welcome.
Suspect surrenders
MANILA, Philippines
Angel Capili Jr., a suspect in the stabbing death of the father of singer Charice Pempengco of the TV hit show “Glee,” surrendered Thursday and admitted responsibility for the crime. Police said Charice’s 40-year-old father, construction worker Ricky Pempengco, was stabbed with an ice pick by a drunken man Monday after buying cigarettes at a store.
