Jim Graham to retire
LORDSTOWN
A longtime Mahoning Valley union leader is calling it a career. United Auto Workers Local 1112 President Jim Graham told 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s reporting partner, that he’ll leave his post in July.
Graham began working at GM Lordstown in the 1970s and has been local president since 1987.
He ran for Warren mayor last spring but was defeated.
Graham, who was born in Greece and came to America with his family when he was 4, says he hasn’t finalized his post-retirement plans.

Chamber plans mixer with leaders
LIBERTY
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Government Affairs Council will host an inaugural Mahoning Valley Elected Officials Mixer and Wine Tasting for chamber members. The networking event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive in Liberty.
Planning to attend are the Valley’s two Congressmen, U.S. Reps. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th and Bill Johnson of Marietta, R-6th; Youngstown Mayor Charles Sammarone; Warren Mayor Michael O’Brien; Warren Mayor-Elect Doug Franklin; Trumbull County Commissioners Paul Heltzel, Dan Polivka and Frank Fuda; Mahoning County Commissioners John McNally and Anthony Traficanti; and state Sen. Joe Schiavoni. Other state and local officials are planning to attend as well.
