Cornersburg Dairy Queen started a new tradition on Oct. 22, as the facility hosted its first pumpkin hunt for local children.
Inside of the Cornersburg store, guests were welcome to enjoy Dairy queen treats, color Halloween pictures and paint pumpkins.
Guests could warm up and show off their costumes to the Dairy Queen staff.
Soon after, Dairy Queen owner Chrissy Smith brought the crowd to the pumpkin patch outside. Through piles of hay, tiny pumpkins and candy could be seen peeking through the patch.
Smith first showed off the cleverest and cutest costumes to the crowd, and then welcomed kids to begin their hunt. Soon, superheroes, doctors, Barbies and skeletons rifled through the hay to find the candies.
“Our Cornersburg Dairy Queen has been part of the community for the last 10 years, while our Austintown location is new this year. Nonetheless, this is the first year both facilities are celebrating Halloween. It’s our pleasure to be part of more holiday celebrations,” explained Smith of the Pumpkin Hunt.
“Next comes our Christmas celebrations, where Santa will be visiting on a fire truck and we’ll celebrate ‘Christmas in Cornersburg’ with a live reindeer display,” Smith added.
