Canfield runners 2011 finish season

Neighbors | Submitted.The Canfield cross country team recently competed in the high school District Meet. The boys team finished 11th out of 19 teams and the girls finished the 2011 season with a 17-7 record.
The Canfield cross country teams recently competed in the high school district meet and the middle school state championships.
On Oct. 22, the high school boys and girls traveled to Malone University to compete in the Division I district championships.
The boys team faced a strong field that included defending Division I state champions, Louisville. The boys team finished 11th out of 19 teams. Placing for the boys team were Jon Hutnyan, 17th, Rollin Bresson, 34th, Tyler Kennedy, 71st, Nick Tocicki, 73rd, Bryan Kristan, 82nd, Rajan Solanki, 86th and Andy Russo, 98th.
With his 17th-place finish, Hutnyan qualified for the regional championships. The boys team finished 2011 with a 17-5 record.
The girls also faced a strong field with two top 10 teams from last year’s state championships — Louisville and North Canton Hoover. The girls team placed eighth out of 15 teams. Placing for the girls were Emma Lunne, 15th, Bailey Fischer, 34th, Sydney Miller, 50th, Marla Marucci, 54th, Jen Love, 62nd, Jamie Watt, 68th and Lindsay Tapia, 88th. With her 15th-place finish, Lunne also qualified for regionals. The girls finished 2011 with a 17-7 record.
On Oct. 23, the middle school competed in the state championships.
In the Division I boys race, Chase Kern placed 16th overall. In the boys Silver race, the following boys placed: Ryan Motolenich, 21st, Pete Crescimanno, 41st, Slava Lefoer, 43rd, Victor Stefanides, 54th, Andrew Bell, 55th, Dan Sylak, 57th and Tyler Napolitano, 61st.
In the Division I girls race, the girls team placed ninth overall. Placing for the girls team were: Rachel Rostek, 52nd, Jenny McClune, 67th, Victoria Pacheco, 75th, Cecilia Shaer, 81st, Marissa Cashbaugh, 97th and Raquel Markulin.
