AMS Blue game round-up

Both Austintown Middle School Blue volleyball teams defeated Niles on Oct. 6. The seventh grade team won 25-9, 25-21 and the eighth grade team won 25-15, 25-6.

Next, AMS Blue seventh grades lost to Howland 25-23, 25-21. The eighth grade team lost 25-17, 25-6, 25-21.

On Nov. 12 the seventh grade team lost to Canfield 25-18, 25-21 and the eighth grade team lost 25-13, 25-22.

The seventh grade team defeated Hubbard 25-11, 25-12 on Nov. 13 but the eighth grade team lost 25-18, 25-13.

East Ohio Volleyball Club

Tryouts will be held for the East Ohio Volleyball Club on Nov. 13 and 20 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Warren YMCA, 210 High Street, Warren.

YMCA offers Fall calendar

The Fall Youth Fundamental Basketball League has begun. The league runs through Dec. 17 and is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 15. Registration fees are $48 for YMCA members and $68 for all others.

They are also offering a Fall Sunday Team “Select” Basketball League which will conclude with a tournament Dec. 18. The “Select” league is open to boys in 4th, 5th and 6th grade and girls in 5th and 6th grade. Registration fees are $42 for YMCA members and $57 for all others.

Local boxing card set

Tickets are on sale for the 11-bout boxing card on Nov. 19 at the St. Lucy Palermo Center.

Jake Giuriceo (13-0-1, 3 KOs) is in the main event and also on the card are Chris Koval (25-7, 18 KOs), Durrell Richardson (12-3, 5 KOs) and Dante Moore (6-0-1, 4 KOs).

Volleyball club hosts tryouts next week

The Club Hollywood volleyball club will have tryouts for girls ages 10-14 at Crestview High School today and Saturday from 1:30-4 p.m.
