The Trumbull County Republican Party will have its monthly breakfast meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the community room at Eastwood Mall near Dillard’s. Dr. Farid Naffah, a Warren gastroenterologist, will speak on “The American Dream” and health care.
Township vacancy

Milton Township residents interested in a position on the township Zoning Commission or the township Zoning Board of Appeals may send a letter of interest to Jenifer Terry, Zoning Inspector, P.O. Box 308, Lake Milton 44429. Letters must be received no later than Nov. 10.
Mayor-elect finances
WARREN
The campaign committee for Doug Franklin, Warren safety-service director and mayor-elect, revised its pre-general-election campaign finance report to the Trumbull County Board of Elections.
It shows Franklin’s campaign received $4,025 in campaign contributions, made $1,539 in expenditures and has a campaign balance of $2,936. Franklin reported one major contributor: $1,000 from Thomas Fok of Youngstown.
MVOC hosts meeting
YOUNGSTOWN
The Retirement Security Committee of the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative will host a community meeting on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid issues and all three state ballot issues at 11 a.m. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1413 Belmont Ave.
Rides will be provided from the meeting for those wishing to vote early as well as on Election Day. For rides, contact Charlene Allen at 330-360-1901 or Tammy Thomas at the MVOC office at 330-743-1196.
Free coats in Salem
SALEM
“Warm Up Salem — Free Coat Give Away” is scheduled for Saturday at Pavilion 1, Centennial Park, and will run from noon to 3 p.m. or as long as the supply lasts.
This is an outreach of Realife Church at Pine Lake Road and state Route 45.
Several other Salem businesses have been involved in the coat collection. About 500 coats of all sizes are available for children and adults.
Registration begins at noon. A hot lunch is being provided from Realife Second Mile Ministries and Not Just Smoke, a food ministry from the Columbiana area.
Austintown fall fest
AUSTINTOWN
A fall festival is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield- Niles Road.
There will be flag-football games, a hayride, food, a bonfire and crafts. The event is free and open to youth from preschool through college age.
