Chesapeake Energy gets more property for Utica shale drilling

Chesapeake Energy Corp. announced two transactions today involving Utica Shale land at an approximate value of $3.4 billion.

It also has entered into a letter of intent with an “undisclosed international major energy company” for an industry joint venture.

The partner will acquire an undivided 25 percent interest in 650,00 net acres in Utica Shale territory.
