Major Ohio newsapers: Vote No on Issue 3

COLUMBUS — The No on Issue 3 Committee, a statewide coalition of nearly 40 organizations, today announced that with The Vindicator’s Oct. 31 editorial, every major Ohio daily newspaper has now urged voters to reject Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment that will be on the November 8 ballot.

The major dailies are: Cleveland Plain Dealer, Columbus Dispatch, Cincinnati Enquirer Akron Beacon Journal, Toledo Blade, Canton Repository, and Athens Messenger & Athens News.

"Never in modern political history have all major daily newspapers in Ohio spoken with one voice on a controversial ballot initiative," said Dale Butland, committee co-spokesman.

“Whether conservative, liberal, or middle of the road, Ohio newspapers have all reached the same unanimous conclusion: while Issue 3 would have zero impact on what the Tea Party calls ‘Obamacare’, it would have devastating consequences for Ohio," Butland added.
