Police work to ID man found dead at Okla. protest

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Police investigating the death of a man found dead inside a tent at a protest at an Oklahoma City park say they haven’t been able to determine the man’s identity or how he died.

Police Capt. Dexter Nelson said today that homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death because of his young age and the fact that his death was unattended.

Nelson says there were no obvious signs of trauma and that the man is believed to be in his early 20s and homeless. Someone called 911 Monday afternoon after he was found dead inside a tent at Kerr Park.

The medical examiner’s office has not yet conducted an autopsy on the body. Nelson says toxicology reports could take up to eight weeks.
