Eight injured in crash in Southington

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that injured eight people, including four children, Monday evening.

Police report that Ann M. Reed, 44, of North Jackson was northbound on state Route 534 in a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck when she turned left on U.S. Route 422 and into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van driven by Tal A. Lewis Jr., 45, of Cortland who was southbound on state Route 534.

Lewis and his sister Barbara Waldman, 42, of Warren and four of six children ranging in age from 6 to 12, who were passengers in his vehicle, were transported to St. Joseph’s Health Center in Warren with minor injuries. A hospital spokeswoman said all were expected to be discharged.

Reed and her passenger, David L. Maynard, 58, of North Jackson were transported to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren with moderate injuries. A hospital spokeswoman said Reed was released from the hospital. No information regarding Maynard was available.

Reed was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
