At its annual scholarship banquet on May 11, the Wolves Club of Youngstown, Den VI, awarded four-year scholarships for eight high school students to Youngstown State University.

The banquet took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, where Dr. Allan Mosher and his wife, Jennifer Jones Mosher, and Tony Vincenzo Cenname, all from the YSU Dana School of Music, entertained guests. Jerry Rezanka was the accompanist.

Scholarship winners and their high schools follow:

Sarah Bable, Springfield Local

Megan Chambers, Boardman

Kaitlin Congemi, Cardinal Mooney

Amanda Ditman, Struthers

Marissa Frame, Western Reserve

Drew Saluga, Boardman

Dominic Sikora, Poland Seminary

Amanda Tonoli, Struthers.

The Wolves Club also awarded $3,000 to the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. This year’s donation will be matched by the Humility of Mary Health Partners Development Foundation, which will award scholarships to local nursing students.

The club is the Mahoning chapter of a national fraternal organization of Italian-American business professionals who support higher education.

The funding for the 2011 scholarships stems from the success of their fundraising events from 2010, which are matched by the Youngstown State University Foundation. This year, together with the foundation, the Wolves are awarding $46,000 in scholarships, the largest amount they’ve ever given.
