Life’s a beach. So is this hole

The No. 11 hole at Avalon is fun to look at and play. While it’s a gentler 13-handicap hole, if you get too caught up in its beauty, it will grab you like a No. 1 handicap hole.

Most of the top tee shots have to fly big, big water — which automatically tightens the knees and other muscles.

The hole’s 16 sand traps begin in the drive’s landing area and don’t seem to end until, well, Lake Erie.

Drives less than 250 yards will sit down in a depressed landing area, creating a blind second shot.

If you’re driving over 260 yards, you’ll get a pin view.

But you’ll also see bunker, bunker, bunker, bunker ... 10 of them line the second half of the fairway, with the second-half of the green essentially tucked behind them.

When you get to the green, the Pete Dye-designed nuances continue.

You can score well on this hole — if you’re a golfer. But if you play it like a tourist, the scenery will bury you.
