Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is infamous these days for revelations that he fathered a son with a member of his housekeeping staff. But in happier times, Schwarzenegger was an actor who made some popular movies. Here are five of his best:

v “True Lies” (1994): Schwarzenegger always has injected an element of humor into his action movies, a tongue-in-cheek recognition of his own outsized ridiculousness. But this is the best example of his ability to blend laughs and gunfire, sight gags and explosions.

v “The Terminator” (1984): One of the definitive ’80s action flicks and the movie that truly made Schwarzenegger a superstar. It features one of his classic and most- quoted lines — “I’ll be back” — and allowed us all to put the suffix “-ator” at the end of any word to describe him in a corny way.

v “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991): A rare sequel that is as good as the original, if not better.

v “Total Recall” (1990): Schwarzenegger plays a construction worker living in the future who discovers that his entire existence has been a fabrication.

v “Predator” (1987): This sci-fi thriller is about a group of commandos trapped in a Central American jungle and hunted by an extraterrestrial monster.

“AMERICA’S GOT TALENT” (8 p.m., NBC): Let the craziness begin. The summer’s most-popular talent competition returns for its sixth season, starting off with its open- audition rounds. As usual, we never know exactly what to expect from a show that has singers and dancers sharing the stage with jugglers, magicians, contortionists, ventriloquists and other offbeat acts. With their buzzers at the ready, Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and Howie Mandel return to the judges’ table, while host Nick Cannon tries to make sense of it all.

“Million Dollar Decorators” (10 p.m., Bravo): Get ready for a major case of household envy. The new series “Million Dollar Decorators” features interior designers who cater to the wealthy — and all that entails.
