Bridge work for Columbiana County today, Wednesday

LISBON — Work begins Wednesday to repair dual bridges on U.S. Route 30 located over Columbiana County Road 424, which is also named the Y & O Road, near Rock Camp in Madison Township, Columbiana County, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

One 12-foot lane for traffic will be maintained in each direction with barrels until June 14, when it will be reduced to an 11-foot lane with concrete barrier and crossovers. During construction, the road may be closed for short durations not to exceed 20 minutes. ODOT’s contractor for the $2.5 million project is Marucci & Gaffney Excavating Co. of Youngstown. The completion date is Oct. 31.

Work began today on a bridge replacement on U.S. Route 30 west of Lisbon over Cold Run at County Road 412. One lane for alternating one-way traffic will be maintained during construction with temporary traffic signals.

ODOT’s contractor for this $798,666 project is DOT Construction Corp. of Canfield. The completion date is Sept. 30. That structure was posted at a 75 percent reduced load limit for truck traffic last fall.
