CAR SHOWS

The Eastwood Classic Benefit Car Show will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Field, 111 Eastwood Mall Blvd., Niles. The show will benefit the Animal Welfare League’s Care and Education Center Campaign and Second Harvest Food Bank. There also will be a craft show, music, a wing-eating contest, a kids area with inflatables and face painting, a basket auction and more. Admission is $6 in advance and $9 at the gate. The event is free to veterans with proper identification, children under age 12 and military in uniform. Tickets are available for purchase at Wing Warehouse or by calling 330-261-6303. CRAFT SHOWS

Vendors are needed for the 24th Annual Arts & Crafts in the Park, to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 at Centennial Park, East Pershing Street, Salem. Setup is at 7 a.m., rain or shine. A 20-by-20-foot space costs $25. Take your own tables and chairs, or they will be supplied for $35. Tents will be allowed, but no electricity is available. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

St. Joseph the Provider Church will have its annual summer festival Thursday through Sunday on the parish grounds, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. The festival is well-known for its home cooking, which includes stuffed cabbage, pirogi, haluski, and kolbassi and kraut. Rides will be by Sam’s Amusement, and music will be provided each night and the day of June 5. Security is provided, and admission will be charged only to young people unaccompanied by an adult.

SALES

Hope Circle of the Mahoning Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Mahoning Valley Grange, 1208 Skyhill Road, Edinburg, Pa.

The Menagerie, 6037 old Route 82 in Howland, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It features a Christmas room, antique room, clothing, jewelry, furniture and more. Pythian Sisters will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and a $2 a bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday at 123 College St., West Farmington, Ohio. Lunch will be available.

Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., is having its annual giant garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. It will be in the social hall and feature hundreds of items. Proceeds are used for maintenance and improvements at the shrine.

St. Benedictine Auxiliary of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 180 Belvedere, NE, Warren, are preparing for a rummage sale to take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. All clothing will be $3 per grocery bag unless priced otherwise. At 2 p.m. Saturday, all merchandise will be half-price. Friday earlybirds (before 9 a.m.) are offered for $5 admission. Pizza, soda and water will be available for lunch.

W.E.L.C.A. Women’s Group of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, will host a trunk treasures sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (rain date is June 11) at the church parking lot. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available, and there will be a 50-50 raffle, a raffle for a “Covered by the Cross” afghan donated by June Bell, and a used-book sale. A String of Pearls Red Hat Society June Group presents a gala day at Catawba Island Club on the shores of Lake Erie. The event will take place June 24. Youngstown Harley Owners Group is sponsoring a Panty Run on June 25 to benefit the Austintown Community Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, Austintown. Food, refreshments, games, basket auction, 50-50 raffle, a DJ and a bake sale will be featured. The cost is $15 per rider, $5 per passenger, and $5 for walk-ins. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is planning a bus trip to Holmes County on June 17 with stops in Charm, Ohio, at Miller’s Dry Goods and Guggisberg Cheese; in Berlin, Ohio, for shopping and lunch, and at Gramma Fannie’s Quilt Barn. Travelers will dine at the Amish Door Village on the return trip. The cost of $45 for members and $50 for nonmembers includes transportation, dinner and a tip. The cost is $45; and July 13 to the Ward-Thomas House in Niles, to Avalon Gardens in Youngstown for lunch ($9.50) and to the Arms Family Museum of Local History, the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church and the Butler Institute of American Art, all in Youngstown.
