Couple killed on Belmont Ave. lived in Conn. onnecticut

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released the names of the couple killed while crossing Belmont Avenue on Saturday.

Doreen Rogers, 71, and Keith Rogers, 73, died after they were hit by a van about 5:40 p.m. Saturday on Belmont near Liberty Street.

The couple was from Manchester, Conn., according to The Vindicator’s broadcast news partner WFMJ TV-21.

The driver of the van, Sandra L. Scott, 64, of Vienna, wasn’t injured in the accident.

A trooper with OSHP said the accident is still under investigation.

He said at this point he can’t say whether charges will be filed against Scott.

Scott was driving southbound on Belmont when the victims, who were not from Ohio, crossed into the path of her van and were struck.

The man died at the scene, and the woman died at St. Elizabeth Health Center a short time later, a news release said.
