Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following, including new programs that begin in June: Monday, closed for Memorial Day; Tuesday, outdoor walking group at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30, bingo at noon and golf league at Mill Creek Par 3 at 2 p.m. (sign up ahead at the center); Wednesday, walking group at 9 a.m., bingo at 10, lunch at 11:30, Wii practice at noon and movie night at 6 p.m., showing “Secretariat,” sign up at senior center; Thursday, yoga at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at 11:30; Friday, walking group at 9 a.m., bingo at 10, lunch at 11:30 and Wii practice at noon; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., bake sale and fundraiser at Austintown Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles-Cortland Road SE. The angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. For more information call 330-675-2521.

Niles SCOPE Senior Center will have a “Happy Tappers” class beginning Tuesday. The class is for those age 50 and older. No experience is required. Tap shoes are not required; tennis shoes are suitable. The class will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday. The cost is $1 per class. There is no need to preregister. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, closed for Memorial Day; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, bridge for beginners at 10:30, exercises at noon and Digital Club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tap class at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and Woodcarvers at 9 a.m., exercises at noon, line dancing at 1 p.m. and beginner line dancing at 2; and Friday, cards at 11 a.m. Special events include the following: Tuesday, Margarita’s Restaurant and Fellows Riverside Gardens and June 6, OSU gardening class from 1 to 3 p.m. at the center.
