The Astro Falcons overcame four errors to edge out Dave Sugar Excavating on the opening day of the Class B baseball season at Bob Cene Park. Kerrigan Bell went the distance for the Falcons, giving up two runs (one earned) while scattering six hits, striking out six and walking three. Joel Hake led the offense with two hits and also scored a run. Nico Diani and Jake Clayton each scored a run while Sabatino D’Nardo had the RBI. Scott Moore received the loss, only going three innings, giving up three runs, on three hits, striking out six, and walking two. Connor Kesner led Sugar with two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Moore had a double, an RBI, and scored a run as well.

Livi Steel 10, Wharmby Sports 0

STRUTHERS

Jake Foster went the distance in the six-inning, game, giving up one hit while striking out nine and walking none. His performance was lost in the offensive attack of Livi. Foster and Jake Moffo both had a double among their two hits. Kevin Sierra had a double, RB, and a run scored while Anthony Repp had a triple, RBI and a run scored. Anthony Lariccia had a double and two RBIs while Mike Montalbano and Allen Hayes each added a hit and RBI. Joe Bullano suffered the loss for Wharmby, giving up six six runs (five earned) on five hits, giving up five walks and striking out only two. Ernie Burkes had the hit for Whamrby.

STRUTHERS

Youngstown Express used a pair of five-run innings to power its way past 1080 Media. Tony Valezquez pitched all seven innings for Express. Valezquez gave up five runs on five hits, while striking out 11 and walked four. Matt Lacko pounded out three hits for Express, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Brent McCormick had a double among two hits, while scoring and driving home a run each. Dom Dundee had a triple and RBI, and he scored three times. Ryan Delerc had a hit and scored three times. Vinnie Boerio and Dylan Williams both had a double, a run scored and RBI. Joey Lendak took the loss for 1080 Media, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits while walking two and striking out none. John Diamond had two hits and had two RBIs. Robbie Douglas had a double and drove home a run for 1080 while Stephen Lesnesky had a double and scored a run.

Ryan Fleming picked up the victory, going the distance, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six and walking only one. Pat Carlozzi had three hits and drove in two runs. Austin Beil had two hits, including a double and RBI, and he scored four runs while Jake Pishotti had two hits including a double, two runs and two RBIs. Jake Pregi had a double among his two hits and scored a run while John Weisman had two hits and two RBIs and also scored a run. Trent Collins with five plus innings for Sam Pitzulo Homes, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits, while striking out three and walking only one. Camran Rezapvion had a hit and scored the run.
