YOUNGSTOWN

Register now for the American Heart Association’s 2011 Golf Classic Scramble, which will take place June 6 at Youngstown Country Club, and you’ll be taking a swing at heart disease and stroke.

The scramble will feature team and individual prizes, including a cash prize of $25,000 for the first hole-in-one. The prize is being donated by the event chairmen, Dr. Michael Burley and Joe Valvo.

Another first hole-in-one prize includes a 2011 Cadillac CTS, provided by Stadium GM, and a closest-to-the-pin prize is being donated by Caleena Fine Jewelers of Warren.

A shotgun start will kick off the 18-hole four-person scramble at 1 p.m. The $250-per person fee or $1,000 for a team of four includes lunch at 11:30 a.m., golf carts, refreshments on the course and an awards reception immediately after play ends.

Proceeds from the golf classic will benefit the American Heart Association’s cardiovascular research, educational and advocacy programs in the community. To sign up for play, call the American Heart Association at 330-965-9230.
