Beanbags, golf balls and even frogs were found flying through the air at Lynn Kirk Elementary on April 29, as the PTA provided carnival games for the school’s annual Spring Carnival.
The flying objects were part of the cornhole, putt-putt and frog toss game stations, but the PTA also offered a ring toss, duck pond, ball bounce and bean bag toss to add to the carnival atmosphere.
National Honor Society volunteers from Fitch High School manned the face-painting station. The high-schoolers sketched flowers on many Lynn Kirk girls and curly moustaches and goatees on the boys.
“The carnival is a big deal here at Lynn Kirk,” explained PTA treasurer and event planner Mika Mosser. “We’ve been hearing from parents and teachers that it’s all the kids have been talking about they’re so excited about it.”
Every guest was promised to have a good time at the event, with the PTA providing a gift of a stuffed animal to each student. Other prizes were available to the kids, according to their participation.
“The carnival is definitely good fun for the kids,” Mosser said.
“The students have the chance to get out of class, let off some steam and have a good time. They’ve been working hard all week in class, so it’s nice to have this break on Friday.
