Dinosaurs roar at amusement park

MASON, Ohio

A Cincinnati-area amusement park has opened its version of “Jurassic Park” featuring life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that move and make sounds. The “Dinosaurs Alive!” attraction at Kings Island had its grand opening Thursday, days after one of the 60 dinosaurs caught fire.

Kings Island spokesman Don Helbig says no one was hurt in the fire Tuesday night that was confined to just one of the dinosaurs. Helbig says the cause of the fire that broke out during construction was not clear. Billowing smoke was captured on video by people traveling on Interstate 71, alongside the park north of Cincinnati.

MSNBC’s Schultz is suspended

NEW YORK

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is off the air for more than a week after calling a fellow talk-show host a vulgar term. On his radio show, the liberal commentator referred to conservative host Laura Ingraham as a “right-wing slut.” He was apparently upset over her criticism of President Barack Obama’s overseas trip.

Schultz apologized on MSNBC on Wednesday to Ingraham, his family, MSNBC and viewers for the remark. He said it was wrong and uncalled for, and he recognized the severity of what he said. He will return to the air June 6.

Kudrow to host Webby Awards

NEW YORK

Lisa Kudrow will host the 15th annual Webby Awards June 13 at the Hammerstein Ballroom. One of her duties is to ensure that award winners stick to Webby protocol by limiting their acceptance speeches to just five words.

Recipients were earlier announced by the Webbys, which honor Internet achievement.

Kudrow is also a Webby winner, receiving best individual performance in an online video for her performance in her series “Web Therapy.”

Kudrow is prepping “Web Therapy” for a TV adaptation, to debut on Showtime in July.
