A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

May 16

Criminal mischief: Eighty feet of lawn damage was reported in the 5100 block of Youngstown-Poland Road.

May 17

Identity theft: A Struthers Road woman discovered $238 worth of unauthorized online charges to her credit/debit-card number.

May 19

Identity theft: A Poland Village Boulevard woman reported having been a victim of the crime via the Internet.

May 20

Assault: A man was injured during an assault at his Coblentz Drive residence.

BOARDMAN

May 20

Burglary: A 13-inch flat-screen TV, an Xbox 360 system, two digital cameras, a computer and other items were stolen from a home in the 50 block of Homestead Drive; someone had entered through a rear door.

Burglaries: Police charged two 14-year-old Youngstown boys with burglary and attempted burglary after saying one boy admitted they had kicked in the side door to a Maple Drive home in an effort to enter. One of the teens also admitted the two were responsible for a break-in at a Homestead Drive residence, a report said.

Theft: Thomas Valley, 47, of 6300 South Ave., Boardman, was charged with stealing four pieces of jewelry from Sears in Southern Park Mall. He was released on a summons.

Theft: A 9 mm handgun was missing from a home in the 1800 block of Lealand Avenue.

Theft: Two cylinders were taken from a lot at R&M Fluid Power Inc., 7953 Southern Blvd.

Theft: A $300 compact-disc player was removed from a car in the 4200 block of Chester Drive.

Burglary: To a residence in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive, from which a 50-inch plasma TV, jewelry, a safe and coins were taken.

Assault: A fight between two students was reported on a school bus in the 100 block of Carter Circle. Both suffered minor injuries.

Arrest: Police took 23-year-old Correy J. Naypaver into custody at his residence, 4044 Shelby Road, Boardman, on a probation-violation charge as well as one drug-related count.

Arrest: Officers pulled over a vehicle on South Avenue, then arrested Derrick E. Ross Howard, 26, of 63 Lilburne Drive, Youngstown, He was wanted by Columbiana County authorities on an assault charge.

May 21

Harassment: A Forest Lake Drive woman reported getting such calls.

Arrest: Police charged 21-year-old Brittany L. Gardner, 943 Plaza View Court, Youngstown, with one misdemeanor count of child endangering after several people reported having seen an infant alone in a vehicle at a Boardman-Canfield Road store.

Burglary: Took place in the 4000 block of Traymore Drive after someone entered the home through the garage. Stolen was roughly $3,000 worth of jewelry.

Criminal mischief: A BB was used to break a window and damage a screen to a home in the 7500 block of Hitchcock Road.

False alarm: Someone made a false- report claiming a vehicle had struck a pedestrian near West Boulevard and U.S. Route 224.

Theft: Two women stole 14 bottles of perfume from Bath & Body Works, 379 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A township man reported his wallet stolen at a South Avenue store.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Route 224 led to the arrest of 39-year-old Israel B. Lopez Jr., 1900 Brandon Ave., Boardman, on a warrant from Columbiana County.

Harassment: An Applecrest Court woman reported receiving a series of unwanted calls.

Arrest: Gerald W. Hardaway, 30, of 547 Ridge Ave., Youngstown, faced a felony count of receiving stolen property after police pulled him over near Overhill Road and determined he had a stolen sticker on his license plate. Hardaway also was wanted on two misdemeanor warrants.

May 22

Counterfeit: A fake $10 bill was passed in the Taco Bell drive-through, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Harassment: A Glenwood Avenue woman told police someone in Texas made a sexually explicit call to her.

Vandalism: A double-pane window was damaged at a business in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Twelve articles of clothing were stolen from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Arrest: Officers responding to a fight in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue took 25-year-old Bobby J. Crockett Jr., 3009 Hudson Ave., Youngstown, into custody upon finding out he was wanted on a felony drug-possession charge. Crockett also was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, he provided two false names.

Burglary/assault: A man in the 5000 block of Friendship Avenue told authorities another man kicked in his front door, then punched the accuser several times in the head, causing swelling to his left ear.

May 23

Menacing: A woman told police she was threatened with harm outside her home in the 4000 block of South Avenue.

Fraud: An Erskine Avenue woman trying to buy a vehicle online told police she was instructed to send $2,690 to someone in New York City, but that the car never arrived as promised.

Theft: A worker on the roof of Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1280 Doral Drive, discovered copper piping missing.

Fraud: A Holbrook Road man noticed $668 worth of unauthorized charges to his account, presumably when someone bought a plane ticket to and made hotel reservations in India.

Arrest: Police responding to a disturbance at a business in the 8300 block of Market Street charged 18-year-old Shawna D. Perkins, 2801 Ridley Ave., Youngstown, with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Perkins, who had been let go by the business, yelled obscenities, overturned a chair and tossed an artificial tree, a report showed.

Theft: A woman reported $3,550 worth of jewelry was removed from her residence in the 700 block of Oakridge Drive.

Theft: A $120 satellite-radio system was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of Afton Avenue.

Theft: Eight landscaping stones were stolen from a home in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue.

Theft/vandalism: Someone cut and removed copper air-conditioning unit lines at a construction site in the 50 block of Stadium Drive.

Theft: A $250 CD faceplate was stolen from a car in the 100 block of Melrose Avenue.

Arrest: Police pulled over 53-year-old Keith E. Ellison, 540 Hudson Drive, Youngstown, near Hillman Way, where they took him into custody on a felony theft charge from Liberty Township.

Arrest: Matthew J. Campbell, 28, of 7465 Sierra Madre Trail, Boardman, was charged with violating a protection order after his estranged wife alleged Campbell had sent her a text message threatening to flatten her car’s tires, then threw an object at her balcony window, both in violation of the order.

Theft: Copper piping was missing from an air-conditioning unit, and a propane tank was stolen from Dental Express, 6540 South Ave.
