Former Ponderosa Park structures to be condemned

AUSTINTOWN
Mahoning County District Board of Health is working with Goshen Township trustees to condemn some structures on the site of the former Ponderosa Park and rehabilitate others.
The board discussed the situation during its meeting earlier this week and decided to condemn certain buildings deemed uninhabitable, noted Matthew Stefanak, health-board commissioner.
The health department also ordered the removal of several full trash bins from the property, Stefanak said.
Ponderosa Park, off U.S. Route 62 near Salem, was known for its outdoor concerts, but has fallen into disrepair in recent years.
