Obama: US, Russia to work on missile defense

DEAUVILLE, France (AP) — Addressing a major irritant to U.S.-Russia relations, President Barack Obama said today the countries are committed to finding a common approach on missile defense plans. But they revealed no breakthrough. Obama made his comments after meeting privately with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of an economic summit in France. Both men wore stern looks as they talked to reporters after the meeting, and Medvedev said it wasn’t even worth trying to reach agreement on all issues.
