Dulci-More to take center stage at festival

The annual Dulci-More Festival will be Friday through Sunday at BSA Camp McKinley, 37748 Furnace Road.

It will be hosted by Dulci- More, a group of folk and traditional musicians based in Salem but with members from throughout the region.

Members of Dulci-More will perform a short opening set at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by acclaimed dulcimer player Doug Berch of Michigan.

Saturday’s concert begins at 7 p.m. with Dulci-More, Stephen Seifert of Nashville, Tenn., and Ohio’s Alex Bevan.

Dulci-More will begin Sunday’s music at 7 p.m., followed by Jim Miller of Tennessee (originally from Hanoverton and a 1971 graduate of United Local), and Matt Watroba.

The festival will include about 70 workshops in mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, autoharp, guitar, mandolin, banjo, Celtic harp and more.

There will be a spiritual sing Sunday morning, and song circles and campfires follow the evening concerts.

Full weekend admission is $35 per person, and an additional $5 covers all the children in a family.

Admission for each evening concert is $10 per person per evening, and $2 covers all children in a family.

Admission for just daytime events is $8 per person per day, and $2 covers all children in a family. Admission for either day with the evening concert included is $15 per person, and $2 covers all children in a family. Preregistered group discounts are available.
