Damage tops $123M

COLUMBUS

The Ohio Insurance Institute estimates that mid-April storms caused more than $123 million in damage across Ohio.

The industry group for property and casualty insurers said Wednesday that wind, tornadoes and hail April 19 and 20 led to about 8,100 claims representing $43 million in losses, with 90 percent of claims on homeowners and renters policies.
