Boardman man to return to prison on abduction charge

YOUNGSTOWN — A Boardman man convicted of trying to abduct a 14-year-old girl from Southern Boulevard near Leighton Avenue on April 13, 2009, will be returning to a state prison to serve at least another six days.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court made the ruling today in the case of Guy Krupa, 51, of Oregon Trail, who was convicted by a jury of attempted abduction and originally sentenced to a year in prison.

After serving a mere 24 days in state prison in 2009, Krupa was released because the 7th District Court of Appeals stayed the sentence pending Krupa’s appeal.

That appeals court later upheld Krupa’s conviction; and the Ohio Supreme Court refused to hear the case.
