Walk for Hope set for June 4

About 125 people took part in the first A Walk for Hope last year, and Scott Lewis, director of Big Reach Center of Hope, hopes to have 200 walkers this year.

The second annual walk will be June 4 at the Boardman High School Sports Complex, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The walkers will step off at 9 a.m.

The goal is to raise funds for the ministries of Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Road.

Walkers can register for $15 which includes a free T-shirt. To register go to the church’s website, www.bigreachministries.org.

People can go to the “A Walk for Help” portion of the website and click to download and print a registration form. People should mail their $15 check and registration form to the Big Reach Center of Hope, 11767 Lisbon Road, P.O. Box 53, Greenford, OH 44422.

Danny Cahill, the winner of the NBC show “Biggest Loser Season 8: Second Chances” will return to the event this year and will be the guest of honor. He lost 239 pounds.

Amanda Arlauskas of “Biggest Loser Season 8” will be appearing for the first time. She lost 87 pounds.

Cahill and Arlauskas will take part in the “unplugged” event at 6 p.m. June 4 at the Greenford Christian Church, Lewis said.
