The South High School Alumni Association is announcing its 37th Alumni Reunion, planned for June 17 at 6 p.m. at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road.

The Youngstown school opened in 1911 and closed in 1993, when it became a charter school.

Many of its thousands of graduates now live in all parts of the country, especially Northeast and Central Ohio as well as Western Pennsylvania. The committee is trying to regain contact with all who attended South High School. All classmates and friends are invited to attend and are encouraged to organize and reserve a table of eight with their classmates and friends.

The menu includes a choice of Swiss steak, stuffed chicken breast or baked fish at $23 per person. Reservations are needed by June 8.

Featured will be entertainment by the Jim Frank Trio, an announcement about plans for a South High Hall of Fame, time to reminisce, display tables for memorabilia, and special recognition of the classes of 1961 and 1951 (50 and 60 years).

Make reservation checks payable to Elberta Scott, 3841 Baymar Drive, Youngstown, OH 44511. For information call 330-792-0478.
