“AMERICAN IDOL” (8 p.m., Fox): Who’s in it to win it?! After weeks of Steven Tyler craziness, occasional glimmers of genuine artistry and some wildly inconsistent judging, we’re finally ready to crown a champion on television’s most popular talent show. (And it’s not a moment too soon for Jennifer Lopez, who was about to run low on curve-hugging outfits). We didn’t know what to expect from a post-Simon “Idol,” but, for the most part, Season 10 has been a blast — especially compared to last year’s snoozefest. The two remaining finalists squared off on Tuesday and then, tonight, one lucky singer will wallow in high-fives and confetti.
“Oprah Winfrey” (check local listings): After 25 years of reigning supreme, Oprah Winfrey, the queen of daytime TV (and of so much else), brings an end to her syndicated talk show. We expect the tissue tally to be off the charts.
“Cougar Town” (9:31 p.m., ABC): Any excuse for a tropical vacation. On the season finale of “Cougar Town,” the gang goes chasing after Travis when he abruptly moves to Hawaii. The episode airs after the season finales of “The Middle” and “Modern Family.”
