FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

THURSDAY

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will sell takeout homemade chicken dinners from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The meals include mashed potatoes and green beans and are $6 each. Drive to the front of the church for pickup; no need to preorder or get out of the car.

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, serves homemade Chinese lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays. This week’s menu will feature pork lo mein and kung pao chicken. The cost of the meal is $6. No reservations are necessary.

FRIDAY

Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, Poland, will serve chili dinners from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include bread, crackers and pie for $5. Takeouts will be available after 11:30 a.m. Prices follow: bowl, $2.50; refill, $1; quart, $4; slice of pie, $2; whole pie, $7; coffee and punch, 50 cents with a free refill. Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided. This will be the last sale until September.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Advance sales only. Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance. This is the last sale of the season. Sales will resume in September.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling 330-746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available. This is the final sale for the season.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

SATURDAY

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will have a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. A donation will be accepted for the all-you-can eat breakfast or brunch of eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and onions, and beverages. TAKING ORDERS

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is taking orders for nut or apricot kolachi. The cost is $7 each. Orders will be accepted at 330-542-3884 or 330-758-7447 until Saturday and can be picked up from 3 to 4 p.m. June 4.

UPCOMING

Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305 at 534, will have a chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. June 1. The menu includes a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, homemade desserts and beverage. Meals are $7.50 for adults. Chicken tender meals for children 4 to 10 are $4, and those 3 and under eat free. For carryouts call 330-898-2156 and meals will be ready for pickup.
