Sentenced to prison

WARREN

A 28-year-old Youngstown man was sentenced to three years in prison Monday for firing gunshots at or near a woman living in the 4800 block of Sampson Drive in October 2010.

Kelly Dykes, 28, of the 2400 block of Russell Avenue, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to felonious assault and improperly discharging firearms into a habitation. Dykes pleaded guilty to the felonies in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Liberty police said Dykes stopped at the house, had an argument with the woman, brandished a handgun and fired it at her. He returned to his vehicle, shot a few more rounds and left.

Liberty police said it was the 26th time they’d been called to the Sampson Drive address since January 2008.
