Mom pleads innocent to stabbing son

WARREN

A 27-year-old Olive Street Northeast woman is in the Trumbull County jail without eligibility to make bond, accused of stabbing her 11-year-old son in the forearm Saturday morning at their home.

Lashawn Reynolds pleaded innocent Monday morning in Warren Municipal Court to felonious assault. If convicted, she could get eight years in prison.

The boy told police his mother called him into a room and she pulled a knife out of her pocket and stabbed him “without provocation.”

The boy called his grandmother, who called police at 9:50 a.m.

Officers said that when they arrived at the apartment, Reynolds tried to keep officers from getting into her room and appeared to be intoxicated and “wobbling while standing.”

She was taken into custody without incident.

The boy’s grandmother took possession of the boy.

The boy was treated at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for the stab wound, which required “a few stitches.”

Reynolds returns to court May 31.
