Man admits aiding suspects in killing plot

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution in a murder plot that ended in the death of a father of four.

The Centre Daily Times reports 26-year-old Kermit Butts pleaded guilty last week and was sentenced to at least 11 months in prison. Prosecutors say Butts was the driver for Ronald Heichel the night he killed 29-year-old Samuel Boob in August 2009.

Boob’s wife, Mirinda, allegedly orchestrated the murder. She and Heichel were convicted of first-degree murder in March and sentenced to life in prison.

Butts’ attorney says her client wasn’t a party to the murder plot. Karen Muir says Heichel threatened to kill Butts if he didn’t drive him to Boob’s home.
