ROOTSTOWN

The Aneal Mohan Kohli Academic Technology Endowment was established at the Northeast Ohio Medical University through a gift of $500,000 made by Dr. Chander M. and Karen Kohli of Liberty.

The donation was made to the Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation by the Kohli family in memory of their son Aneal, who, before he died at age 30, was a self-employed videographer and had a passion for the visual arts.

The Kohli family was honored at a reception at the Ralph Regula Conference Center on the university’s campus earlier this week to unveil the newly branded technology. Dr. Kohli is a neurologist in the Youngstown area and sits on the university board of trustees.

“This endowment is a fitting tribute and will forever support university students in improving learning and retention through the use of electronic media,” said Dr. Jay A. Gershen, university president.

In recognition and appreciation of this significant endowment, all recorded lectures will be branded the Aneal Mohan Kohli Lecture Capture System.

Each time university students log on to review course lectures, students will note the attribution to Aneal and the creation of the endowment. The creation of this endowment will assist the Academic Technology Department to remain innovative and cutting edge in the delivery of online course material.
