Warren JFK’s Fredericka wins singles title at Division II district

Warren JFK’s Michael Fredericka won two matches on Saturday to win the Division II district tournament while the Poland doubles team of Ken Duncan and Garrett Gardner finished third in doubles.

In singles, Salem’s Mitch Maroscher defeated Pepper Pike Orange’s Sam Ubersax by scores of 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 to finish third.

Fredericka defeated Ubersax (6-0, 6-1) and Canton Central Catholic’s Colin Bernier (6-2, 6-0). Maroscher lost to Bernier (6-1, 6-1).

The Duncan-Gardner team lost to Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy’s Alex Aleman and Lou Konstan (6-0, 6-0), the first-place team. Duncan and Gardner rebounded by defeating Gilmour Academy’s Mike Riley and Wes Noall by scores of 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-4.
