Amyloidosis run planned in park
YOUNGSTOWN
The second annual Nancy Prezioso Babich Run Against Amyloidosis 5K race will take place June 4 in Mill Creek Park.
Babich, a wife and mother of three young children, lost her battle with the disease in 2009, the day before her 43rd birthday. She was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and Youngstown State University, and she earned a master’s degree from Loyola University.
The run will begin at 9 a.m. at Wick Recreation Area near the Par 3 Golf Course and follow the Classic 5K route.
All proceeds will be donated to the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine Human Immunology & Cancer Program Study for a Cure to Amyloidosis.
Sponsors and supporters would be appreciated. To contribute funds, prizes for basket auctions, company marketing products and services, or to volunteer, contact Jen Latell, race coordinator, at jlat27@sbcglobal.net or call 330-314-8114.
