The American Legion Post 15 has selected students from Poland Seminary and Cardinal Mooney High schools to attend this year’s Buckeye Boys State.

Matthew Cowles, a junior at Poland, and Alec Giamboi, a junior at Cardinal Mooney, will participate in the American Legion Buckeye Boys State, a nine-day intensive education program on Ohio government for high school students.

Each participant becomes a part of the operation of a local, county and state government.

High school juniors are selected by American Legion posts.

Buckeye Boys State will be June 11-19 on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

Official GED testing sponsored by the Youngstown Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program University System of Ohio will offer testing at 8:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Choffin Career and Technical Center.

All participants must be preregistered and bring photo identification. To preregister for the test or to enroll in free classes, call Youngstown ABLE at 330-744-8715.
