Michael Lacivita’s photos on exhibit

YOUNGSTOWN

An exhibition of photographs taken by Michael J. Lacivita is on display through mid-June in the gallery at Bliss Hall, on Wick Avenue, on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The black-and-white photographs were taken in the 1950s and early ’60s and depict scenes of Youngs-town, Yankee Stadium in New York and many of cats, dogs and horses in action.

The photos won awards in newspaper contests at the time.

Lacivita, a YSU graduate and former columnist for The Vindicator, is the author of “Rag Man, Rag Man,” a memoir of growing up in Youngstown.

He is an inductee in the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame and the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.
