YOUNGSTOWN

Nurses at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland will vote Wednesday on one-year extensions of their work agreements, which expire July 19.

The nurses at Northside and Hillside are represented by the Ohio Nurses Association.

Those hospitals, along with Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, are affiliated with ValleyCare Health System owned by Community Health Systems. Nurses at TMH are represented by American Federation of State, County and Municipal Local 2026 and are not involved in Wednesday’s vote.

Northside and Hillside are formally known as the Youngstown Ohio Hospital Company and Warren Ohio Rehab Hospital Company, respectively.

Eric Williams, president of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association at Northside, said voting is at 8 a.m. and 4 and 8 p.m. at the Liberty Township Administration Building on Church Hill-Hubbard Road. If the extension is approved, the new contract expiration will be July 19, 2012.
