Former Judge Cronin no longer in contempt of Ohio's top court

YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio Supreme Court, which found Maureen A. Cronin, a former Mahoning County Common Pleas Court judge in contempt in March, has granted her motion to remove herself from contempt-of-court status.

The top court in Columbus acted Thursday after she filed an affidavit of compliance with terms of her resignation from law practice and surrendered to the top court her certificate of admission to the bar and attorney-registration card.

Cronin, 57, of Youngstown, resigned from law practice just before entering the federal prison camp in Greenville, Ill., in March 2010 to serve time for honest-services mail fraud. She’ll be released from the prison camp on March 8, 2012.
