Task force arrests man wanted for murder

WARREN

A task force arrested Ronald J. Pugh Jr. of Youngstown Wednesday afternoon in the Sunday morning shooting death of DeAngelo McCoy, 24, of Third Street Southwest.

Warren police said a task force consisting of officers from the Warren Police Department, Trumbull County Adult Probation Department, U.S. Marshals office and other area police departments located Pugh in Youngstown and took him into custody.

Officers brought Pugh back to Warren, and he was booked into the Trumbull County Jail at 3:45 p.m.

Pugh, 26, of East Philadelphia Ave., is charged in Warren Municipal Court with murder. Warren police issued a warrant for his arrest in the crime on Monday.

Police were called to an apartment in the Hampshire House apartments, on Fifth Street Southwest, at 4:30 a.m. Sunday for a shooting. They learned that friends had taken McCoy to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where McCoy was later pronounced dead.

McCoy and Pugh have criminal records that included prison sentences.
