One hospitalized after plane crash in Salem


SALEM

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a minor plane crash at the Salem Airpark Thursday morning.

According to police a single engine six-passenger plane under the control of a 34-year-old man from Indiana attempted to land at the air park at 8:30 a.m. but touched down just short of the west end of the runway. The plane sustained heavy damage and came to rest on the side of the runway.

Two of the four passengers aboard the plane, ranging in age from 34 years old to 61 years old, suffered minor injuries, reports said. One passenger was taken to Salem Hospital. All four passengers are from Indiana.
