Ohio amusement park sues Mich. maker of fake rocks

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio amusement park alleges in a federal lawsuit that a Michigan company hired to put fake rocks around a water ride did little of the work but pocketed more than $220,000.

Cedar Point hired a second company to finish up at the $10.5 million Shoot the Rapids ride, which opened last season. The Sandusky Register reports the lawsuit claims the park was essentially forced to pay twice for the artificial rocks because Rock & Waterscape said it couldn’t finish them on time.

The suit filed last week in Toledo seeks the return of the money paid to the Auburn, Mich.-based company, plus punitive damages, attorney fees and interest.
