“Hairspray’s” Tracy, Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, Youngstown. A final contest when audience members using digital voting will help a panel of judges and the director name the winner and the star of the production Friday. “Cinderella,SDRq Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron. Auditions will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Please call and sign up for an audition time. Auditions are by appointment only. Age limit for all roles is 7 to 18. Please prepare 32 bars from one musical-theater song, short one- to two-minute monologue. You may be asked to read from the script and learn a short dance. Performances: Aug. 5-21. 330-836-2626.

“Gypsy,SDRq Youngstown Playhouse, Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown. Auditons are 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Auditioners should bring music, a picture of themselves and wear comfortable clothes. A song from “Gypsy” is not required. Performances are Sept. 9-17. 330-788-8739.

“Fiddler on the Roof,SDRq Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St. Auditions will be at 7 p.m. June 5 and 6 for age 15 and older. Auditionners should come with piano sheet music (no accompaniment tracks). Be prepared to sing a short vocal solo. Dress comfortably (no flip-flops) to learn a short dance routine. A special audition night is set for children age 7 to 14 on June 7. They also will be asked to sing and learn a simple dance. Bringing a solo is optional. Cast of about 30 men and women of all ages. About eight boys and girls will be villagers. Performances are first two weekends in August. 330-332-9688.

Auditions will take place for “The Lion’s Den,SDRq an Internet drama series that will be created by filmmaker Sean Lott of Youngstown, who also wrote the story and will direct. The series will focus on a set of characters in Youngstown, including drug dealers, politicians and police officers. Filming will begin in Youngstown in June. The series will be shown on vimeo.com.
