Area Catholic school students to beautify South Side Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN

More than 150 students from six Catholic high schools and various parishes throughout the Diocese of Youngstown will join with neighbors and other volunteers to participate in Project Grow.

The activity will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at vacant lots near St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., and Immaculate Conception-Sacred Heart Parish, 400 Lincoln Park Drive.

This project, funded in large part by a grant from the Catholic Extension Society, will begin with a retreat experience for the students Friday evening.

On Saturday, participants will engage in neighborhood beautification and urban gardening activities.
