Pa. court kicks back bid for DUI training records

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania appeals court is telling the state open-records agency to take another look at its decision that granted access to police drunken-driving training materials to a lawyer who specializes in DUI cases.

Commonwealth Court today ordered the Office of Open Records to have a hearing that would more fully explore whether releasing course materials used to train police officers from Harrisburg Area Community College might endanger public safety.

The records are being requested by Harrisburg lawyer Justin McShane, whose website boasts that he’s the best DUI-case lawyer in the state.

A college spokesman is declining comment, and McShane didn’t return a phone message about the ruling.
