OHSAA competitive balance referendum is defeated

A referendum to reorganize team sports in Ohio has been defeated by a narrow margin.

The so-called “competitive balance” issue would have adjusted actual school enrollments based on factors of how schools secure students (i.e., open enrollment), economics (free lunch program) and tradition.

The referendum was rejected 332-303.
